The announcement reads: "The Star of the Republic Museum is launching a long-term genealogical project to identify living descendants of the 59 men who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence here at Washington on the Brazos in 1836. Descendants will be recognized in March 2011 in commemoration of the 175th Anniversary of the signing of the Texas Declaration. If you are a descendant, please fill out a descendant card at the Museum's information desk or the Park Visitors Center."

I am a descendant of Jose Antonio Navarro.
I am a decendant of Richard Ellis, we live in Louisiana now.
I'm a descendant of William B Scates. He also participated in The Battle of Velasco in 1832; fought in the siege and capture of Bexar; served with the Sabine Volunteers and fought at The Battle of San Jacinto; and served on the committee that approved the existing Lone Star flag design. Reburied in 1929 in the Texas State Cemetery.

I am related to Samuel A. Maverick, I am his fourth grand niece.
I am a descendant of Benjamin Franklin Collinsworth, brother of James Collinsworth. James died without issue so there were no descendants as did their brother, Col. John T Collinsworth-Inspector General, in service of the Army of Texas in 1837 at Camp Independence. Capt. George M Collinsworth and his brother Lt.David C Collinsworth (killed by Indians after the capture of the Presidio LaBahia at Goliad) were cousins.
My name is Cynthia Connally Grimes. My great grandfather was William Robert Crawford. His grandfather was William Carroll Crawford, the last to sign the Texas Declaration of Independence and the last signer to die. He was named after his ancesto, Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the signer of the US Declaration of Independence.
